I believe that everyone is spiritual:
Sometimes we're conscious of spiritual life, sometimes we are spiritually active, sometimes not, but our spirit is always present.

​Each person's spiritual journey is unique:
Even if two people grew up and stayed involved in the same church, different hymns, prayers, and sermons will touch them differently. And an individual’s spiritual journey may change over time.
It is important to respect your own spiritual journey and the journey of others:
Be watchful about comparing where you are on your path with others and thinking “I should be more like that.” You are exactly where you are meant to be in your spiritual life. It is only your next step, or your new path to explore, that is important.
I call religion the “Main Street” to spirituality:
Everyone knows that street and it has much heavy traffic. Religion provides structure, traditions, rituals, practices, and community support. But depending on where you live and where you want to go, you may decide to use other streets that can enliven your spirit - being in nature, participating in or appreciating the arts, relationships with family and/or friends, or being of service.
